We’ve done a lot of summer decor posts over the last few weeks. But one area we haven’t covered is artwork. A room is incomplete till you decorate your walls too. It’s the final dressing up of the bride. And so today, I’ve picked my favourite summer paintings for this season.

Affordable Art - Summer Paintings

There was a time when the thought of getting good artwork meant you began to add the zeroes in your head. So it makes me really happy to see all the artwork that is available online now. From actual paintings to quality prints of good artists, it’s all out there. And you’ll definitely find something that fits your taste and budget.

Which brings me to another important thing about art. It is so very personal. I might love a piece that you absolutely hate, and neither of us would be ‘wrong’. What I’ve brought to you in this post are my favourite summer paintings. These talk to me about summer in one way or another, and I would love to have each one of these in my own home or in the homes that I design. You might love them too. Or you might hate them!

I sincerely hope it’s the former. I’ll probably be doing some more of the affordable art series over time and if we share a similar taste in art, you can enjoy all those posts and find something great for your home too. I have given the source of each of these paintings below them. If you like any, all you have to do is click it and buy!

My Favourite Summer Paintings:

That said, let’s begin! If you remember my post on summer decor, I said summer to me is about keeping things white and light. When I was browsing through all this artwork online, I realised the same applied to summer paintings too. I found myself drawn to paintings that are mostly light, airy and oh so summery.

I finally divided the artwork I liked into sections similar to the summer decor post. So let’s start with the first.

Summer Paintings in Whites:

A bird chirping on a summer day. Cycling on a bright sunny morning. Scenes I will always associate with summer.

More scenes from summer. I’d love to be anywhere around that lake, whether it’s jumping into the water on a hot day like today or sitting under the tree with a book. Or walking in that tall grass in a summer field. I could use these pics individually, as a single piece of artwork, or even put them together to make a little gallery wall.

Love these graphics too. They would make a dramatic statement anywhere, especially in a large size on a coloured wall.

Summer Paintings in Pastels:

Sometimes a splash of colour is all you need. Both these remind me of summer skies and a blazing sun!

Summer flowers in soft pastels make quite a perfect picture!

A couple more to wrap up our pastel section!

Whites With A Pop of Colour:

Yup, I still can’t get over the whites! For some reason, I’m drawn to the backgrounds of both the paintings above almost as much as the subject.

Bright summer florals, this time around.

And this fun artwork to end with. There is something about each one of these that somehow makes me smile.

So that’s my round up of summer paintings you can add to your collection this season. It’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many options to choose from. After 2 days of going through artwork online and choosing so many, many pieces, I had to literally stop myself. I would never have finished writing this post, nor you reading it, if I could put every piece of art I liked into it.

Which is why I thought I’d start an Affordable Art series. So I selected a few summer paintings for this post, and I have saved many more for follow up posts in this series.

But I need your feedback for that. Did you like this post? Would you want me to do more in the Affordable Art series? How could I have made this post more relevant and useful to you? Let me know what you think so I can better this next time.

If you are looking for more affordable art options, you can see the entire series of posts by clicking here.

Look forward to hearing from you,
