Coffee tables, dining tables, study tables, end tables.. we need all kinds of tables to make a functional home, and we regularly use all kinds in our projects. Now, I know you love getting details of the products we use as much as all details of the makeovers. So I’m here today with our table roundup 2021, all our faves from last year.

Table Roundup - Our Favourites From Last Year

Table Roundup 2021

We have some gorgeous pieces in this collection that would make stunning showstoppers and can easily be the focal point of the room. We also have tables that are simple and elegant and would work well with other pieces to complete a space.

Let’s start with the littlest ones.

1 – End Tables

An end table is a small table placed beside another piece of furniture, usually a sofa. It is also often called a side table.

Sweden Side Table

We have quite an eclectic mix of furniture in this living room and I love how this table managed to gel so well with all the other furniture pieces. It’s simplicity also means that even though it is of a good size, it doesn’t look heavy or crowd this small living room.

Olamide Side Table

The antique brass finish of this metal table went well with the mustard tones in this Shades of Grey living room. I love how the large size gives us enough place to keep decor and more. You don’t have to reach behind the arm of the sofa because of the good height. Yet the light design doesn’t make it look heavy or overbearing.

Cupola End Table

We needed a smaller end table to fit into this little window alcove. I was also hoping to find a piece without ‘legs’ because I didn’t want the visual clutter of so many legs all together in one little space.

Since we had already picked blush as the main colour for this room, the gold base and white marble of this table seemed heaven sent. In fact, this then inspired us to pick all our decor accessories in brass and white.

Tao Nest Of Tables

The end table above then inspired us to pick this white and gold nest of tables for the same room. Instead of nesting them, we placed on one either side of the sofa.

The smaller one fit in easily on the far side near the column, giving us a little space to keep odds and ends. This would be required especially for the person sleeping on that side, when the sofa is opened out into a bed.

We were happy to go with ‘legs’ on these tables since we placed them next to a solid sofa.

Mimosa Side Table

I don’t have a fuller pic of this table because it sits in the corner between the two sofas. I wish I could show you the beautiful, hand beaten top in the rustic, old iron finish.

With a table top that is almost two feet in diameter, this table has a super size and yet looks so light and easy on the eyes.

Visalia End Table

We wanted a mid sized table for this space – one that would fit between these chairs on a daily basis, but could also be pulled ahead and used as a coffee table when people are using the window seat. The black, carved base gives this table a little more presence, so it doesn’t look like a makeshift coffee table when it is pulled into the centre.

The cutwork base also goes well with the haveli style of this living room.

Elle Side Table

Not only is this a fun table for this little girl’s room, it was great fun to design too. From the shape of the table, to colour of wood, to the type of legs and the design that goes on the table top, each element can be selected individually and put together to make a personalised piece.

The end result is simple, pretty and very versatile. It is used in this room as a writing table in front of this bench, an end table near the wing chair and a bedside table near the bed.

Aristo Accent Table

A gentle piece that will never go out of style, it’s the small details that make this table so special. Like the delicate legs which seem to hold the top up, and are polished an almost black in contrast to the beautiful walnut top.

2 – Coffee Tables

Moving on to coffee tables on our table roundup 2021. These are the larger tables you keep in front of your sofas to hold food, drink and decor accessories. Since they are usually placed in the centre of the seating area, they are also called centre tables.

Balance Coffee Table

We went for a glass top coffee table here, so that this smallish seating area doesn’t look overcrowded. The way the glass seems to balance on the slim wooden frame makes it look even more delicate.

Ovoid Coffee Table Set

When you’re looking for a large table, yet don’t want to block the space or have it look too heavy, a pair of tables like this one is a great solution. The painted leaves on the table tops added to the eclectic vibe of this living room and made us pick them.

Herringbone Coffee Table

We were looking for a simple piece for this place. The light wood polish goes with the pastel shades in this room and the herringbone pattern adds a little spice to the otherwise basic piece. It’s also easy enough to put away to one side when opening the sofa-cum-bed.

Azealia Trunk Box

This vintage looking, distressed trunk box has all the old world charm that we were looking for in our haveli styled living room. That it provides storage too is an added bonus.

3 – Sideboards and Units

Next on our table roundup 2021, we come to sideboards, consoles and units.

Mid Century Sideboard

This elegant sideboard serves so many functions in this living room. Placed right next to the entrance door, it serves as our entry console. We had it customised to house the music player, and though you’d never guess, it is also used as a shoe storage near the entrance of the home.

Contemporary Lobby Console

The low height and long length were exactly what we were looking for in our TV unit for this space. It’s height makes it convenient to watch TV from the sofa or from the pulled out bed. The length gives us plenty of storage inside.

Manhattan Chest Of Drawers

For this room, our requirement was just the opposite. We needed a smaller unit to fit in front of the narrower strip of wall. We also wanted drawers as additional storage space for guests. This chest of drawers, customised in the colour of our choice, was a beautiful fit.

Melvina TV Unit

This is a well organised piece with open shelves for players, and drawers and cabinets for storage. The gentle curves also go well with the floral motifs and the pair of tables used in the centre which also have soft edges.

Saatly TV Unit

Long enough to cover the expanse of that wall, narrow enough to not block the passageway, naturally uneven polish shades to go with our vintage, haveli look yet modern enough to not overdo the rusticity. We loved almost everything about this TV unit.

Bone Inlay Sideboard

This stunning bone inlay sideboard was love at first sight for the clients as soon as they saw it. How could I refuse to design a space with this gorgeous piece?

4 – Dining Tables

Moving on to dining spaces in our table roundup 2021. It’s the one place we all get together as a family, at least once a day over a meal. I consider this the most important part of my home, and so, like to design comfortable dining spaces for my clients too.

Odra Dining Table

The polished wood grain top is a beauty, and the carved flowers on the edge just the right touch of ornamentation for this eclectic dining room.

Live Edge Dining Table

I have always loved the natural beauty of a live edge. Every piece is truly unique and I have never seen a piece of live edge furniture that I haven’t liked.

Dovetail Dining Table

I love the understated elegance of the horizontal grained veneer with the contrasting legs. Simple and graceful, it fits in beautifully into our mid century modern living room.

5 – Study Tables

Though most of our study areas had built in study tables that we designed on site, this one ready piece we used is definitely worth sharing.

Ladder Study Table

This study table fits in easily and lightly into this teeny tiny study corner. Given how small it is, it provides a whole lot of useful space with the table top, drawer and shelves.

It’s just right for a laptop and would make a great addition to a work-from-home space too.

6 – Bedside Tables

Once again, most of the bedside tables we’ve used in our last few projects have either been built ins or custom made. But this single piece we ordered online is a beauty.

Classic Bedside Table

A good size to fit into that corner, having drawers that are always useful and colours that are just perfect for this room, this piece was a no-brainer for this bedroom.
