Happy New Year, guys! It’s that time of the year and I can’t believe I’m already writing this post again. It feels like I just wrote one for last year. So let us give a warm welcome to 2019 with a short trip down memory lane. Here are our top 5 posts of 2018.
Last year’s top 5 posts were all about festivals. The trend continues this year too and what’s really surprising is that 2 of our top 5 posts are common from last year. What that means for me is that they are well researched and relevant.. and have lasted the test of time. And that makes me feel quite proud.
Another thing that makes me smile is that the most read post is a makeover we did this year. And it truly makes me happy to have our work appreciated.

(5) 5 Delightful Umbrella Decoration Ideas To Welcome The Rains:
This one is a real surprise. This post started out because of this umbrella a friend gifted me. I hung it from the ceiling of our balcony and thought it looked really pretty. It adds a pop of colour in the day and all that sequins glitters in the fairy lights at night.
But while searching for ideas on how I can use that umbrella, I realised I couldn’t find any single source with a whole bunch of different ideas. So I put together all my favourite ideas into this single post… some of my own and some which I found during my search.

(4) 19 Unique Diwali Decoration Ideas To Beautify Your Home:
We had this post on Diwali decor ideas in our top 5 posts last year, and it has made it to the top 5 posts of 2019 too. I think the reason for that is quite obvious. Firstly, we’re a people who love our festivals and love to celebrate everything at the drop of a hat. And secondly, because this post has some really easy and entirely doable decor ideas for everyone.

(3) DIY Ganpati Decoration With Sarees And Bangles:
At number 3 is we have another festival.. this time it’s Ganpati. This is one of my favourite DIY styling projects because the result completely surpassed my own expectations. We used sarees as backdrops for our ‘stage’, and strings of glass bangles stuck to each other with cello tape from the ceiling.
Sounds really simple, doesn’t it? And it is! Which is why we were so surprised at how glamorous and beautiful the end result was.

(2) 20 Cute And Easy Christmas Decor Ideas:
This post is the second common one to make the top 5 lists both last year and this. Again, I think it’s the simplicity of all the ideas that really makes this post work. This pic is one of my fave… strings of pine cones hanging in a window. It looks like a Christmas dream to me!
I refer to this post for ideas myself, and ended up putting our Christmas wreath on our door thanks to one of the pics I saw on it.

(1) A Balcony Garden In Mumbai: Terrace Reveal:
And right at the top of our top 5 posts of 2018 is this beautiful balcony. One of my favourite makeovers of last year and one I personally enjoy every day of my life.
Yup, I’m talking about this gorgeous terrace garden. Pics from this makeover have made it to our most pinned images from Pinterest, our most liked pics on Instagram and this is also the most read post on our blog over the last one year.
I’m super proud of this one.. and very inspired to come back to you with magical spaces like this in the coming year. In case you missed it, you can click here to see the whole of this balcony makeover.
