A very Happy New Year to you from the very first post of this year from this blog. We aren’t just welcoming a new year, but also a new decade this time. I love the way this blog has grown over the last few years and how it’s come to mean so much to so many of you who visit here regularly. It makes me quite sure that we’ll be here together, with a whole lot of new friends, at the end of this decade too. But for now, let’s bid adieu to last year with the top 5 posts of 2019.

Top 5 Posts of 2019

For the last two years, the top 5 most read posts have mostly been about festivals. This time the focus seems to have shifted from festivals to decor. And given that this is a decor blog, it makes me quite happy to see that.

Except, of course, for Diwali. That’s one festival we all love to celebrate and dress up our homes for… and that’s where our we begin our chart toppers this year.

(5) 19 Unique Diwali Decoration Ideas

It’s the third time in a row this year that our post on ‘19 Unique Diwali Decorations Ideas‘ is making the top 5. And this time, I can give you a personal example as to why this post is SO good.

Do you remember how my home was featured in the Diwali special of the India Today Home magazine this year? So when I got the call requesting me to have my decor ready in less than a week, guess what I did? Yup, referred to this very post.

Believe it or not, I very… VERY often go through this blog myself when I am looking for fresh ideas and inspiration. And as always, I DID find inspiration on the post.

The beautiful Diwali drape I did on this doorway was inspired by this picture from our post on Diwali Decor Ideas

And the floral chandelier I DIY-ed above our dining table was inspired by this pretty pic, also from the same post.

(The garlands you see draped on the chairs were inspired by a pic from our post on marigold decor ideas… but that’s another story!)

So yes, the Diwali decor post does have some amazing decor ideas which we all can easily use in our own homes, and so I can see why this post is so popular and topping the charts ever since it was written.

That ‘52 Winning Pics of #MyDesiSwag 2018‘ is the third most popular of the top 5 posts of 2019 on this blog too makes me doubly proud!

But when you consider that it is a collection of 52 pics selected from so many hundreds that come in every week into the contest, you can see why it makes it to the chart.
