Happy New Year, everyone! I’m starting this year in the best way possible… by looking back at the best of last year, with the top 5 posts of 2022!

Top 5 Posts of 2022

I hope you’ve been enjoying our design journey with me on Instagram .. especially over the last few days. Summarising the entire year into a handful of posts might make it all look a little too easy. It doesn’t touch upon everything that goes behind the scenes into making those picture perfect capsules.

But I still love these little roundups. I love looking back at all the best times of the year gone by and celebrating them. It’s a true blast from the past!

So here’s the last of the roundups of the past year – the top 5 posts of 2022.

5 – How To Place Your Bed In Front Of A Window

It’s simple enough, right? You take the bed, and place it in front of the window. There.. done!

But that’s not what we’re really talking about. What if the entire wall is a window?

Source

Or only a small part of it. What if the window is in the centre? Or off centred in an awkward position?

You might need the room to just look pretty. You might want be short of space and wanting to fit in some storage too.

In this super useful post, we have all the various permutations and combinations and how you can make a bed in front of a window look pretty anyways.

Clear here to read all of this post.

4 – 11 Unusual Headboard Ideas To Make You Go Wow!

The bed is usually the star of your bedroom. And a bed is pretty much defined by its headboard. A statement headboard therefore, goes a long way in making a stylish bedroom.

But ‘statement’ doesn’t necessarily mean expensive. You might use a rug or a piece of tapestry behind the bed…

Or a striking wallpaper to frame the bed.

3 – Living and Dining Room – Sylver

Third on our top 5 posts of 2022 is one of my favourite reveals of the year, the living and dining room of Sylver.

It is large, airy and spacious, yet envelopes you in a cozy, warm and vibrant hug that will make you never want to leave.

From the wicker baskets behind the dining table and wicker lamps above it,

To the heady mix of vibrant colours, textures and patterns…

This space will truly make your heart sing!

2 – 11 Fantastic Room Divider Ideas For Your Home

Given the sizes of apartments in our big cities, we often need our spaces to be multi-functional. If you can divide your space into different areas for different functions, it helps to feel more organised.

Source

And how can we do that? That’s where room dividers come in.

Source

Some dividers might physically separate a room into different areas while others do so only visually.

Source

In smaller spaces it helps if the room dividers serve more than one function themselves.

1 – Painting Plastic Pots: How To Jazz Up Your Planters

This simple DIY I did at home when I had a little extra time on hand, is on this list for the third time in a row now. And this year, it’s the number one most read post of the top 5 posts of 2022.

Take those ugly plastic pots that you have at home… and we all have a few of these!

Use some regular oil paint that you get in almost any hardware store in your local market.

Use lace, ribbon or a whole range of decoratives you can stick on to jazz them up further.

There.. you have beautiful, unique, hand painted planters… and a very successful blog post!

This worked for me. It also worked for thousands of people across the world, if the popularity of this post is anything to go by.

So click here for step by step instructions to this easy DIY.

.

That officially wraps up this post, and all of last year, on this blog.

Here is looking forward to bigger, better, brighter and more beautiful in the coming year. See you soon…

Cheers!
